In this presentation I’ll make selvage, 5 pocket jeans with hidden rivets using 11 vintage industrial sewing machine from 1920s to 1960s time period.
Only Union Special and Singer sewing machine will be used.

I’ll show you old American industrial jeans making process, that was prior to 1970s when new generation of sewing machines become more automate and computerized and human touch was taking out of process.
This old way of making jeans is long gone from the big denim industry and only small artinian brands keep this old way of making jeans alive.
I’ll use all 11 vintage industrial sewing machines to make one pair of 5 pocket jeans with hidden rivets from selvage Cone Mills denim that is about 15oz.
I’ll will show and teach you how to make a pair of jeans step by step: from cutting selvage denim cloth to sewing pieces nto a finished pair of jeans.
Presentation will be held at First Standard workshop as a group session included 5 people or less.
It will last about 4-5 hours.

Important info:
- I’m only one who is going to use sewing machines and sew jeans because of the safety and experience concern.
- attendees will not get a pair of jeans at the end.
- attendees will not be making making jeans.
- there is no AC in the workshop, window fan only.
- bring sandwiches and drinks.
Private sessions 1 on 1 are available for $200 for the whole day, any day of the week. In private session you might be able use selected sewing machines under supervision , depending on your experience.
